After spending a night in Rimche, you will head towards the Langtang Valley where you will encounter scenic views of nature. Along with that, you will also notice the vibrant culture of the communities residing in the valley. You will be residing in the Langtang Valley for a night.

Now, the next day the journey to the Kyanjin Ri begins upon reaching you will get a glimpse of breathtaking mountain ranges like Mt. Ganchempo Mt. Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Langtang II, Dorje Lakpa, etc. Along with this, you will also have a chance to view the glaciers and other lush hills along the path.

After exploring and spending your moments together with Mother Nature, now you will hike down to Syabrubesi and back to the capital.

Best Time for 5 Days Langtang Valley Trek

Nepal has four seasons: Autumn, Spring, Monsoon & Winter. So to get the most out of Langtang Valley Trek, trekkers prefer the Autumn and Spring seasons. Also, if you are a beginner, it is not recommended to trek during the Monsoon and Winter seasons as the weather can get a bit harsh to handle.

During the Autumn and Spring seasons, there is a low probability of rainfall throughout the entire expedition. The clear sky gives you a chance to soak the vibrant views of the mountains, flora & fauna along the path.

Difficulty Level of 5 Days Langtang Trek

Langtang Valley Trek is neither too easy nor too hard for the trekkers. With some moderate walking on the trails throughout the journey one should be able to complete this trek without having any problems.

Expedition of the Langtang trek with the highest altitude being Kyanjin Ri(3830m) isn’t considered hard even for beginners if you are trekking in the Autumn and Spring seasons. Anyone with some training a couple of weeks before the trek can easily navigate this journey of the expedition.

The trekkers will have to walk between 6-7 hours each day to complete the trek within 5 days. So prepare yourself physically and mentally to adapt to this routine for 5 days.

Fooding and Lodging services in the trek

    1. Day 1: Kathmandu to Syabrubesi via road, then trek to Rimche

      On the first day of the trek, you will be heading towards Syabrubesi (2380 m) from the capital. It will be a drive ranging from 7 to 8 hours covering a total distance of around 122 km. On the way, you will get a glimpse of multiple lush hills, small villages, and rivers.

      Syabrubesi is considered the gateway for multiple Langtang Trek. Once you reach Syabrubesi, you will then hike for 4-5 hours towards Rimche (2450 m). To reach Rimche you will have two options: High trail and Low trail. You will be traveling from Low trail where you will pass through Bamboo.

      During this short hike, you walk through small communities residing nearby, as well as dense forests of oak and pine trees. And how can you forget the scenic view of some mountain ranges along the trail?

      Once you reach Rimche, you will be accommodated there for a night.

    2. Day 2: Trekking from Rimche to Langtang Village

      Moving on from Rimche, today you will be heading toward Langtang village which is at an altitude of 3430 m. It is around a 6 to 7-hour walk from Rimche.

      In this interim period of your expedition, you will cross Langtang Valley Khola and trek uphill from there to the Langtang Village. Along the trail, you will get to see never-forgetting scenic views of the waterfalls, terrace fields, pin tree forests, and blossoming rhododendrons.

      To begin with, firstly you will trek an uphill leading to the Lama Hotel consisting of multiple ascending and descending of Rimche Danda.

      The journey from the Lama Hotel is also somewhat magical as the magnificent view of multiple mountain ranges like Ganesh Himal, Naya Kangri, Yala Peak, Dorje Lapka, etc will make your trek more worthwhile.

      As you move along the trail, you will encounter a segment of a steep climb that leads to Ghora Tabela(2950 m). From this point onwards along the trail a downhill and an uphill will lead you to Old Langtang Village. Finally, after some trek, you will reach to new civilization of the Langtang village. This village is also considered the gateway for various Langtang Treks.

      You will be accomodating in Langtang village for a night enjoying the local culture and the cuisine.

    3. Day 3: Trekking from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa

      From Langtang Village today you will head towards Kyanjin Gompa. It is a short trek which will last for 3 to 4 hours. During this ascend you will come across praying flags, beautiful mani walls, and chortens leading to Mundu.

      From here you will walk across a small wooden bridge that leads to a scenic trail of beautiful rhododendron trees. Finally, after half an hour of trekking, you will reach Kyanjin Gompa(3430 m). From here the view of the mountain ranges like Mt. Ganchhenpo, Mt Langtang Lirung, etc are just soothing to your eyes.

      This village has a lot more to offer like the vibrant Tibetan culture of the locals, the Cheese Factory and never forgetting scenic views.

      You will be accommodating for the night in this village after exploring all the nearby places.

    4. Day 4: Hike to Kyanjin Ri and return to Kyanjin Gompa then trek back to Rimche

      Today is the day you reach the highest point of this trek Kyanjin Ri(4300 m). All these days trekking for multiple hours, ascending & descending multiple hills along the way, and tackling all the obstacles, your destined place will be for you.

      Early in the morning, you will be trekking up to Kyanjin Ri. This place is known for its scenic view. The mesmerizing view of mountains like Mount Langtang Lirung, Langshisa Ri, and Dorje Lakpa will steal your heart. How can we forget all the lush hills and one of the largest glaciers in this region the Lirung Tsang Glacier?

      After you spend your time up here and enjoy every moment, it is now time to descend. You will now return to Kyanjin Gompa and from there trek down to Rimche. Here you will be accommodating for a night.

    5. Day 5: Trekking from Rimche to Syabrubesi and drive back to Kathmandu

      After staying a night at Rimche, you will now head towards Syabrubesi, going down the same path you came up. Moving on you will now be leaving for Kathmandu from there.

      Even though the 5-Day Langtang Valley Trek might seem short for some trekkers. But the adrenaline, it provides throughout the expedition will make your time worthwhile.
