  2. Day2 Flight to Tumlingtar (30-35 mins) followed by a Jeep Drive to Num (1560m/5118ft) - 7-8 hours

We will have breakfast at the hotel, as according to flight timing your guide will escort us to the airport for the Tumlingtar flight (probably morning time)
Once we are done with that, it’s time to take a flight from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar which takes around 30-35 minutes. Trekkers will have their lunch at Tumlingtar and then set off for a jeep ride to Num, which is 1560 meters above sea level. This 7-8 hours long journey on the jeep takes us through dense forests, smooth roads, and eyes full of landscapes.

  3. Day3 Trek to Seduwa (1500m/4921ft) - 5 to 6 hours

On the third day, we will settle in a fully facilitated lodge where trekkers can rest to the fullest. That’s because the fourth day is when the walking journey starts. Yes, today, we will start a trek from Num and reach Seduwa (1500 meters/4921ft). Throughout this 5 to 6-hour trekking route, we come across the beautiful Arun River, and steep rocky path, and some lush vegetation.

  4. Day4 Day 04: Trek to Tashigaun (2100m/6889ft) - 5 to 6 hours

Today the trekkers will wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and set off on another hike from Seduwa to Tashigaon. We take a route beside the Rasuwa River and take a break to have lunch somewhere in the Hindrungma village.
After lunch, our journey continues towards Tashigaon. Throughout the walk, we will cross different villages, vegetation, terrace farmings, and many more exciting landscapes and natural sights.

  5. Day5 Trek from Tashigaon to Khagma Dada (3500m/11482ft) - 6 to 7 hours

After a freshening stay in the local lodge of Tashigaon, we move on to the Khagma Dada on day 6. This trek will be a little longer and you need to be a little well-prepared because it requires comparatively higher strength. Along with that, the route is also unimaginably beautiful with mesmerizing views of the mountains, rural habitation, and terrace vegetation.
Within 6 to 7 hours of commencing the journey from Tashigaon, we will reach Khagma Dada which stands at an altitude of 3500 meters. As we know the sixth day will be hectic and the days coming would also require trekkers to be healthy, 7th day would be a special day of the trip.

  6. Day6 Acclimatization Day and Khagma Dada Viewpoint Exploration

As said earlier, today is a special day because we will not continue the hike on this day. Instead, the trekkers will enjoy the acclimatization in Khagma Dada and while doing that, we will also see the mesmerizing view from the Khagma Dada Viewpoint.
This acclimatization day is significant for the health and wellness of the trekkers. Also, it is a leisure day for the travellers to go around the village and interact with the locals living there. Understanding the local culture while watching the beautiful view from the viewpoint will certainly be one of the best parts of your trip.

  7. Day7 Trek to Dobato (3862m/12670ft) - 5 to 6 hours

After a rest day at Khagma Dada, we will again resume our walk to the Makalu Base Camp. Today our checkpoint will be a place named Dobato (Do – two, Bato – Path). If we start the trek in the morning and walk at a consistence pace, we reach Dobato within 6 hours (maximum).

  8. Day8 Walk from Dobato to Yangle Kharka (3557m/11670ft) - 6 to 7 hours

Today’s walk will be a little different because today we will descend instead of ascending. That’s right while going from Dobato to Yangle Kharka, the altitude descends by 305 meters. As it will be a descending journey, we will only walk for 4 to 5 hours.

  9. Day9 Trek to Langmale Kharka (4410m/14469ft) - 5 to 6 hours

The tenth Day of the Makalu Barun Valley Trekking journey will be a walk from Kharka to Kharka. After a good sleep and tummy-statisfying breakfast, we will wave a bye to Yangle Kharka and move towards Langmale Kharka, which is at an altitude of 4410 meters. Today the walk will be pretty much hard because we need to ascend a little bit more than we did on the ninth day.

  10. Day10 Trek to Makalu Base Camp (4870m/15978ft) - 4 to 5 hours

After 10 days of journey, we finally moved forward for the final ascend to the Makalu Base Camp. The tenth day will not be a long walk as we only need to cover a total altitude of 460 meters. Within about 4-5 hours and one break for lunch, we will reach the Makalu Base Camp, the end point of our Makalu Barun Valley Trekking Adventure.
After reaching the Makalu Base Camp, you can freshen up and take a rest in the lodge. Besides, you can also go around the base camp and explore the beauty of being at the base of the fifth tallest peak in the world.

  11. Day11 Final Point of the Makalu Barun Valley Trekking: Explore the Base Camp

On the eleventh day, you just need to wake up, freshen up, and have your breakfast at an altitude of 4870 meters. Check out the Barun Glacier followed by some peaks like Mt. Everest and Lhotse besides the Makalu peak itself. Moreover, you can also explore different glaciers and lakes. Also, don’t forget to click as many photos and videos as possible for lifetime memory.
After a day full of exploration and fun, we suggest the trekkers take a sound rest because the next day is again bringing a journey to descend.

  12. Day12 Retrace to Yangle Kharka

Today, our descending journey begins as we move downwards and reach Yangle Kharka from the Makalu Base Camp. The thirteenth day walk will be of 6-7 hours and we will descend from 4870 meters to 3557 meters.

  13. Day13 Ascending Trek to Dobato

Even though we are getting back, today is the day when we need to walk upwards. Yes, it’s the day when we reach Dobato from Yangle Kharka, and the walk would potentially be 6-7 hours long. Therefore, it will be a tiring journey.

  14. Day14 Descending walk to Khagma

After resting overnight at the lodge (tea house) in Dobato, we will wake up the next morning and continue our journey back. On the fourteenth day, we reach Khagma. Remember that we are going downhill which means that the journey is comparatively easier and faster than the uphill trek.

  15. Day15 Walking from Khagma to Tashigaon

Waving an early morning bye to Khagma, we continue on our journey back from the Makalu Barun Valley Trek. Today, our target would be to reach Tashigaon within 5 to 6 hours. Nevertheless, we will descend at a calm pace without any hassle or hurry.

  16. Day16 Tashigaon to Seduwa

On the seventeenth day, we reached Seduwa, which, if you remember, was the first checkpoint on our trek journey towards the Makalu Base Camp. Therefore, we will be almost at the end of the trekking area on this day after walking for 4-5 hours.

  17. Day17 Seduwa to Num

We reached the place from where we started walking to reach the base camp. Yes, this is the last day for the trekkers in the trekking area. Today, we will have some tasty cuisines in the tea house in Num and take a deep rest to prepare for the next day.

  18. Day18 Jeep Drive to Kathbari, Tumlingtar

After almost 15 days of walking non-stop, trekkers will finally get back to enjoying a jeep ride from Num to Kathbari. With a heart full of memories and a body tired of such a long walk, we set off on a journey to Kathbari, Tumlingtar. We will stay for the night in Tumlingtar before heading over to Kathmandu.

  19. Day19 Tumlingtar to Kathmandu Flight

Just like the journey started with a flight from Kathmandu, we got on the flight that took us from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu. From there we head to our respective lodges. This is where the trekkers will release all their tiredness and rest to the fullest.

  20. Day20 Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing (Bouddha, Pashupatinath and Swayambhu)

It is believed that if anyone comes to Nepal and does not visit at least these three places in Kathmandu, they will miss the best cultural and traditional experience of Nepal.
