City Tour in Nepal – Kathmandu Pokhara Chitwan and Lumbini Tour

Today we start the city tour in Nepal. It starts with an exploration of the Kathmandu Valley and gets to know about different hotspots of the valley. You will explore the world heritage sites including holy temples like Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath, Bouddha, and all the Durbar squares; Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

Furthermore, you can also go around the Kathmandu valley on your own and explore different local as well as fancy foods that different cafes, pubs, and local hotels offer. After a whole day city tour of Kathmandu and sound sleep in the hotel, we will set off for a 6-7 hours scenic drive from the city of temples (Kathmandu) to the city of Lakes (Pokhara). Besides, you can also take a flight to Pokhara which takes around 30 minutes.

On reaching Pokhara, you can check in to the hotel, put your belongings in your respective room, and experience the lifestyle on the lakeside. The first thing that we will do on the fourth day is go to the Sarangkot viewpoint (1600m) to watch the exceptional view of sunrise and its reflection on the Machhapuchhre peak (6993 meters). Also, you can get a view of other peaks like Annapurna South, Annapurna III, Himchuli, Annapurna Range, etc. We can either hike up to the Sarangkot viewpoint or even reach there by vehicle. Well, it’s your choice! However, if you miss the sunrise view from Sarangkot, you miss the best part.

After the mesmerizing journey to the Sarangkot viewpoint, we will get back to the hotel, have breakfast, and set off to explore other beauties of the city of lakes and caves. On this day, we will explore the Mahendra Cave, Chamero Gufa (Bat Cave), Mountain Museum, Seti Gorge, and many more places in Pokhara. After a whole day of the beautiful Pokhara City Tour in Nepal, we will watch the sunset from White Pagoda. After that, you can come back to the hotel, get freshened up, and experience the nightlife at the lakeside.

Today we will wave goodbye to Pokhara after an early morning breakfast. We will get on the private vehicle and set off on a 4-5 hours road trip from Pokhara to Chitwan. Chitwan is one of the most amazing cities in the world where you can see wild animals like Rhinos and people living together. Yes, in Chitwan, rhinos roam around the city freely with no locals being affected or scared.

In the evening, we witness the interesting cultural show of the local Tharu people living there. Moreover, a walk through the Tharu inhabitant would also be perfect for that evening along with an exciting sunset view. Also, remember to try a special Tharu dish (Ghongi) and tell us how you like it.

For dinner, we will return to the hotel and take a sound nap to prepare for the jungle adventure the following day.

This day is the most adventurous and thrilling of all 10-day City tours in Nepal. Today, we will go for a jungle safari and watch different wild animals including Gharials, Rhinos, Deer, Tiger, Sloth Bear, Leopards, and different birds as well. Also, you get a chance to explore the elephant breeding center and learn a lot about elephants and other animals from the local jungle keepers there.

Chitwan National Park offers tourists two different types of jungle safaris; jeep safari and elephant safari. If you go on the elephant safari, you can also experience the elephant bath. However, most people nowadays prefer a jeep safari over an elephant ride.

After that, you will also take the adventurous cannoning experience which takes you along the Rapti river. Furthermore, while cannoning you can also watch gharials resting on the bank of the Rapti river.

Don’t worry, these are harmless unless you are disturbed. Along with these adventurous activities, travelers will also wander around the colorful Tharu village. One specialty of the Tharu community is that they make beautiful paintings on the outer walls of their houses. You will love seeing such mesmerizing views of painted houses and the locals living there.

Finally, before dinner, we will enjoy the Tharu tribal dance performed by local Tharu men which was done to chase away wild elephants and rhinos. The dance show will be an amazing act to watch. After that, we will return to the hotel where dinner will be waiting for us. Have dinner and rest to wake up with excitement and energy for the next day of the city tour in Nepal.

After such adventurous activities in Chitwan, it’s time to shower yourself with peace and prosperity. So, the next destination of the city tour in Nepal will be Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. We reach our final destination within 4 hours of drive from Chitwan.

Today, we will wake up early in the morning, freshen up, have breakfast in the hotel, and then set off on a day tour of Lumbini. This city is best known for the Maya Devi Temple (a temple named after Lord Buddha’s mother).

So, that will be the first place we visit in Lumbini. After that, we entered the museum located in the temple itself. In this museum, we can see different artifacts, sculptures, and many more things left behind by the kings who once ruled Lumbini.

On the ninth day, we will set off on a journey back to Kathmandu. You can travel by road or even by flight, that depends on you. The rest of the day can be utilized to explore Kathmandu again and try different cuisines you might have missed on Day 1. Also, don’t forget to do some shopping for souvenirs to take back home.
